DIY Pine Cleaner
One of my favorite scents is pine. I realized this when I was foraging for pine cones this year. As my boots pressed against the fallen needles, the air was filled with the aroma of pine. Pine scented fresheners and candles come close but I wanted to see if I could try to capture the essence of pine in my own jar. So, after bidding farewell to our Christmas tree, I decided to try my own all purpose pine cleaning solution.
I clipped off a few branches, rinsed and patted them dry. Then, I placed about two cups of the needles into a large canning jar. I filled the jar with five parts water and one part white vinegar, and left about one inch of space. After a gentle shake, I placed the jar into a cool, dry spot and gave it about a month.
After a month, I strained out the needles, poured the vinegar solution into a spray bottle and added about 1/4 cup of water to every 3/4 cup of pine solution.
